"PHOTOS WITH SANTA"
...OUR BIG FUNDRAISER FOR QUOTA PROJECTS AT CHRISTMAS CITY
Walgreen's employees donated their time for 2 days, to help us take photos of those children who visited Santa and Scrooge. Donations will be used to support Quota charities throughout the year. In addition, donations were collected for handmade gifts by local artist and Quotarian, Vicki Miller.
We were also joined by our JQ Club from GHS and our "Peeps" Elementary school students, as well as special help from employees of the Grand Casino... Thank You!
We Love our GHS JQ Club!
"Jangles" & Mary - so cute!
So many special moments...
MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO "ADOPTED" CASA KIDS FOR OUR ANNUAL PROJECT! 75 Children will be receiving shoeboxes full of goodies this year! In addition, $500 was donated to CASA kids in Harrison County! Remember...Drop off your gifts at Regions Bank, Cowan-Lorraine Rd. or WLOX-TV before Dec. 6th.
"PEEPS" Club - (Lois Young, Peeps Coordinator) These elementary age students help us with our service projects, but vote on and execute service on their own! In October, they made cookies and delivered them to their local fire department to thank them for their service. They also raised $130 at the Pigskin Palooza by manning their own booth!
"JQ Club" - Gulfport High School. Lead by Quotarians and teachers Angie Estrada and Courtney Ulrich. The only JQ Club in the Quota District, this caring group of high school students meet every week before school, and decide the service projects they can help with. They participate in our Shoeboxes of Love Program, Christmas City fundraiser, Nursing home visits and much more! We mentor these young people, and help them organize and execute service projects that they consider. This year, we will award a scholarship for a deserving JQ member!

Annual Service Projects We assist the deaf, speech and hearing impaired as well as disadvantaged women and children with various projects and financial assistance throughout the year. We have provided batteries for hearing aids, playground equipment for a children's shelter, home repairs for a deaf elderly woman, new glasses and school supplies for disadvantaged children, food for local food panties, and the list goes on. Our mission is to fill needs where we can. In the 2011-12 year, we raised and donated over $24,000 in assisstance! Here are just a few of our annual projects:
Fundraiser Projects We can't help others until we raise the necessary funds, so we try to produce unique fundraisers each year to supplement our generous donations from friends! We appreciate your support! You can rest assured that your donations will be put in the hands of those who need it most.
