As President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM MIRAGE’s Mississippi resorts, George P. Corchis, Jr., oversees strategic direction and operations for both Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi; and Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica, Miss.
Corchis rejoined the MGM MIRAGE team in September ’05 and led the restoration of Beau Rivage in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The 1,740-room resort reopens for business, employing 3,800 Mississippians, August 29, 2006.
With more than a decade of experience working with properties located in Mississippi, Louisiana and Las Vegas, Corchis’ invaluable insight, background and expertise were instrumental in guiding the rebuilding process for Beau Rivage.
Most recently, Corchis served in a dual role for Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. as senior vice president and general manager of the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel and the Sheraton Casino & Hotel, both in Tunica. Prior to that, Corchis spent 11 years working for Jack Binion and is the only executive to serve in key leadership positions at each of the three Horseshoe properties outside Nevada. Corchis began his career in a financial capacity with MGM MIRAGE in the early 90s.
