These young men and women exemplify the real meaning of service... giving of themselves, their talents and their time to help others less fortunate.
We are very honored to present a medal of honor, and a $50 cash award to them. Read their stories below their photos. Each are eligible for a $500 Cash Award which will be presented to one outstanding YES recipient at our Annual Service Awards Banquet.

Katie was nominated by her guidance counselor, who told us of how she dedicates her summers to help theatre groups with the Boys & Girls Clubs. She is known for her generousity when it comes to sharing her talents for the arts. Katie also donates her time and talents to visit nursing homes and dreams of one day making the Honor Guard flight to Washington D.C.
October-2011 Essence Agee Pascagoula High School
Essence was nominated by Church of the Rock.. She has volunteered countless hours, tutoring students through Gautier High student tutoring mentorship, working through FEA(Future Educators of
American) and Fellow Christians Association) chapter at her school, singing and serving meals for the homeless at Our Daily Bread three times a month, collecting and distributing clothes through the Clothes Crisis Closet once a week, Church on the Rock'Kid's, Youth, Praise and Drama, YROC (Youth Reaching Out in the Community), and Homeless Ministries, Boys and Girls Club of America Outreach, America Cancer Society (American Cancer Society Relay for Life), American Heart Association (American Heart Walk), Mississippi Annual National Day of Prayer Ceremony, Mississippi Special Olympics, Gautier City-Wide Beautification Project, Gautier Youth Volunteer and Ambassador Mentorship, and Moss and Pascagoula Teens Walk for Non-Violence.Through her various volunteer services; Essence has engaged over 600+ youth and adults in her community and continues to promote volunteer and youth service.

December-2011 Zach Bodenhamer Gulfport High School
Zach was nominated by his guidance counselor, telling us that he is "one of the most dynamic leaders at GHS". He maintains a 4.0 GPA, while volunteering for the Gulf Coast Youth Sports Assoc., Order of the Arrow Volunteer Camp, Toys for Tots, Coastal Clean-up and various Boy Scouting projects throughout the year.
March - 2012 Lindsey Campbell WINGS Performer
Lynn Meadows Discovery Center
Lindsey was nominated by Quota MS Gulf Coast, when we learned about her "Caps and Crayons for Kids with Cancer" project. She organized her fellow WINGS members into collecting over 200 caps and bandanas, plus hundreds of coloring books and crayons! Then, she delivered them all to the Jackson Cancer Hospital. Ironically, this project was in full swing when Lindsey learned that her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. She plans another trip in May. When presented the YES award, Lindsey received a well deserved standing ovation!
